The data bank for Organization of Arab Petroleum Exporting Countries' (OAPEC) is a comprehensive data system that would serve the members of the organization and provide info on the oil industry, said OAPEC's Secretariat Thursday. The data bank will help provide members with statistics and information on reports, publications, and technical studies, OAPEC's Secretariat said in the opening of its monthly publication, obtained by KUNA. The data bank would also serve to provide necessary information for researchers and experts on the oil and energy industries, said the Secretariat. It added that this ambitious project, launched on August 1st on OAPEC's website, would cover statistics and information on oil and energy within the Arab hemisphere. It went on saying that other organizations could also make use of the data bank to get familiar with the Arab region's oil industry. The data bank currently covers topics concerning the oil industry within the Arab region in addition to news on global oil prices, said the Secretariat, adding that the system also touched on matters concerning the natural gas business. It affirmed that the data bank would continue to be updated in the future in correspondence with the latest developments within the global oil industry. The OAPEC's Secretariat hoped that the data bank would provide solid information for whoever seeks it.
