Oil prices hold steady Tuesday

The price for a barrel of crude oil was little changed Tuesday on the New York Mercantile Exchange, giving up 20 cents overnight to reach $96.71 per barrel. Home heating oil picked up 2.27 cents to $3.1934 a gallon. Reformulated blendstock gasoline added 0.07 cents to $2.9286 per gallon. Natural gas shed 1.2 cents to reach $2.583 per million British thermal units. At the pump, the national average price of unleaded gasoline was unchanged at $3.48 per gallon Tuesday, AAA said.
