
Five expansion projects for existing petrol stations are currently taking place at Al Thayen, Al Hilal, Industrial Area, Abu fasila and Muaither. Completions is expected by the end of 2013. Another 5 expansion projects for existing petrol stations are in tendering stages and approval procedures. Other expansion projects are currently taking place at the Warehouse and Doha Depot and expected to be opened during the fourth quarter of 2013. Two technical inspection centers located at Mesaimeer and Wadi Al Banat petrol stations are completed and fully equipped. Official inauguration will take place when software is completely tested. Coordination is under way between WOQOD and the Traffic Department and the IT of the Ministry of Interior to link fahes center to their IT department. Product Supply Pipe Lines: This line which provides Jet fuel from Mesaieed refinery to Hamad International Airport has been completed and conected and will be operational when the Airport is opened the end of year. Marketing Activities: These activities include sales of petroleum products to WOQOD brand stations, or managed by WOQOD as well as private stations, in additions to other retail services such as LPG, Bitumen, Car wash, lubricants, repair workshops, Post office… During the period , total volume sales of petroleum products (Diesel, Gasoline and Jet Fuel) reached 1.673 million liters with an increase of 13% compared to the same period last year. WQOD also provide diesel tank lease service to both business and individuals. Other marketing activities include retail LPG sales which grew by 21% and compressed natural gas (CNG) which was introduced in December 2013. WOQOD’s sales of Lubricants increased by 23% and agreements were reached with brand car dealers such as BMW, Mercedes Benz, Volvo, Rover, to use WOQOD’s branded lubricants in their agencies. Bitumen sales which increased 66% is expected to grow rapidly as a result of high demand in the coming months and the completion of the expansion storage projects.
