RasGas Company Limited (RasGas) on Wednesday announced that it made its first delivery of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) to Mexico’s Manzanillo LNG receiving terminal. The cargo, which went across the Pacific Ocean to reach Manzanillo in Mexico’s west coast, was delivered aboard RasGas customer RWE chartered conventional sized vessel, Cadiz Knutsen, the company said in a press release. “The delivery of this cargo via collaboration with our customers in the short term market is a great achievement for RasGas and Qatar as well as for our customer, RWE,” said Khalid Sultan Al Kuwari, RasGas’ chief marketing and shipping officer. “This delivery also adds to our global reach in the markets we serve. It is a further demonstration of our ability to supply and deliver LNG reliably and safely,” he added. RasGas is a Qatari joint stock company established in 2001 by Qatar Petroleum and ExxonMobil RasGas Inc. It acts as the operating company for and on behalf of the owners of the liquefied natural gas (LNG) projects RL, RL (II) and RL3 (Project Owners). With operations facilities based in Ras Laffan Industrial City, RasGas’ principal activities are to extract, process, liquefy, store and export LNG and its derivatives from Qatar’s North Field. It exports to countries across Asia, Europe and the Americas, with a total LNG production capacity of approximately 37 million tons per annum.
