The Canadian oil company, Candax, is continuing its strategy of extending its rights in oilfields and wells in Tunisia, where it has been operating for some time. The specialist website African Manager reports that the company has announced the purchase of the remaining rights for the El Bibane and Robbana fields, which were owned by Maghreb. Candax has also gained authorisation from the Tunisian authorities for a transaction with the company Pa Resources over the purchase of a direct stake at Ezzaouia. The latest purchases mean that Candax owns 100% of El Bibane and Robbana and a 45% stake in Ezzaouia, with only one partner, ETAP, Tunisia's public oil company.
