
Crude oil for September delivery held onto a perch above $106 per barrel in New York Monday morning. West Texas Intermediate crude climbed last week on gains in factory output in China, a sign that demand would remain strong. On the New York Mercantile Exchange, crude oil added 13 cents to $106.10 per barrel. Reformulated blendstock gasoline gained 0.52 cents to reach $2.9134 per gallon. Home heating oil added 0.47 cents to reach $2.9982 per gallon. Natural gas gained 4.5 cents to $3.275 per million British thermal units. At the pump, the national average price for a gallon of unleaded regular gasoline was $3.549, down from Sunday's $3.555, the AAA Fuel Gauge report said.
