Yemen is to continue its efforts to modify prices of the liquid natural gas (LNG) in accordance with global market prices, a state source affirmed. In a press release, the source said that Yemen’s former regime sold Yemeni gas for blew market prices, voicing surprise as the former regime has not denied or responded to corruption claims raised on the deals of LNG. It cited that the silence of the former regime confirmed that LNG contracts included a corruption deal. The source stressed that the government would not remain silent, take all due measures against those involved in this deal and bring them to local and international courts. It further pointed that the government reached an agreement with LNG to Korea Gas Corporation (Kogas) on modifying LNG prices, giving the French Total company the choice of buying Yemen’s LNG according to this agreement or to global market prices.
