Eighteen buoys have been installed in the new Suez Canal waterway out of 127 planned buoys, said Engineer Ahmed Fareed, head of the dredging section in the new Suez Canal Project.
In statements to MENA, Fareed said ten dredgers have finalized their work in the new project, which is due to be inaugurated on August 6.
Up to 241.046 million cubic meters of water-saturated sand have been dredged so far as part of the Suez Canal Development Project, said a report issued by the executive authority of the Suez Canal Project.
This represents 92.44 percent of a total 258 million cubic meters that should be dredged as part of the project, the report added.
