
The statistical report of National Centre for Tourism Information and Research (MAS) of the Saudi Commission for Tourism and Antiquities (SCTA) on 2014 summer has disclosed that the number of domestic tourist trips during the summer months (June-August) exceeded 5.8 million tourist trips, compared with 5.5 million tourist trisp for the same period of 2013, a growth rate of 5.4%.
It pointed out that spending on domestic tourist trips in 2014 summer exceeded SR 6.2 billion, compared to SR 5 billion for the same period of last year, an increase of 24%.
The report also said that Dubai, Bahrain and Qatar came in the forefront of attractive destinations for Saudi tourists by 51%, then the Middle East countries 29.6%, countries of South Asia by 9.2% and Europe and America by 10.2%.
