The Public Authority for Civil Aviation (PACA) announced that the latest satellite images and weather charts indicate the presence of a tropical air depression accompanied by thunder clouds, centred east of the Arabia Sea. The centre of the depression is about 1,450 kms from the Sultanate. In its statement, PACA pointed out that the Omani and international numerical forecasts indicate that the centre of the air depression would be moving towards the west, to the eastern coasts of Africa in the coming two days. There are no indicators showing that the air depression's centre is close to Oman. It added that during the depression some clouds may move towards the coast of the Governorates of Dhofar and Al Wusta from today evening. There is also the possibility of sporadic rains. The tidal waves will be of medium intesity on the southern eastern coast. The PACA meteorologists will continue following up the developments in weather conditions and continue to warn the public, if and when the need arises. Times Of Oman
