
Ajman Tourism Development Department, ATDD, has announced the hospitality sector statistics for the second quarter of 2014 on the sidelines of the International Russian Travel Market.
Hind Al Marzooqi, Head of ATDD Marketing and Promotion Section, said, "Revenues of the tourism sector during Q2 of 2014 were estimated at Dh 67 million, compared to Dh 42 million during the same period in 2013." She added that hotel occupancy for the second quarter of 2014 reached 65 percent, compared to 58 percent in the same period in 2013.
The number of guests reached 180,000 with a total of 182,000 guest nights during the second quarter of 2014, compared to 120,000 guests and 128,000 nights during the same period in 2013, she continued.
Europeans came first on the list of visitors to Ajman, followed by Russians and CIS market citizens, then GCC and Arab nationalities.
The number of hotel establishments surveyed is now 31, compared to 29 in 2013, Al Marzooqi said.
