
Ajman Tourism Development Department, ATDD, has announced the results of tourism statistics in the emirate for the first quarter of 2015, on the first day of the Arabian Travel Market, Dubai.
Faisal Al Nuaimi, ATDD General Manager, said, "Revenues of Q1 were Dh 90 million, compared to Dh 77 million in the same period in 2014."
"The number of hotel nights was doubled to 440,000 nights in Q1 of 2015, compared to only 240,000 nights in Q1 of 2014. Asian and African nationalities were high on the list of guest nights, followed by GCC nationals, and then other Arab citizens," he added.
The number of visitors to Ajman in the first quarter of 2015 reached 120,000, Al Nuaimi said, noting that hotel occupancy rate increased to 70 percent, compared to only 56 percent in the same period in 2014.
The ATDD General Manager said the number of hotel establishments in Ajman reached 35 in the first quarter of 2015, compared to 30 in the same period in 2014.
