Belarusian Belavia airlines intends to resume flights to Egypt's Sharm el Sheikh and Hurghada in the next summer season, local Belta news network reported Friday.
"In the new season we will resume flying to Sharm el-Sheikh. That's for sure. Booking and sale of Egypt tours for the spring and summer are already underway," Deputy Director General for Marketing and Foreign Economic Affairs at OAO Belavia airline Igor Cherginets told reporters.
He added that no other reasons but the commercial ones influence the decisions on the restoration of flights from Minsk to Sharm el Sheikh.
Cherginets said that last winter the demand for charter flights to Egypt was very high. In 2014 the passenger traffic on this route increased nearly five times over 2013.
Belavia is the largest air carrier in Belarus by the number of passengers and cargoes it transports.
