
Chinese President Xi Jinping left here on Friday heading for Iran, wrapping up a three-day official visit to Egypt.
Xi arrived in Cairo on Wednesday coming from Saudi Arabia, to mark the 60th anniversary of establishing diplomatic ties between Egypt and China.
In Cairo, the Chinese leader met with President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and a number of top Egyptian officials.
On Thursday, Xi left Cairo for Luxor city to announce the launch of the Egyptian-Chinese cultural year.
He visited many Pharaonic sites in the Upper Egyptian city, including the Luxor Temple, where a special stage was set up in the middle of the Pharaonic temple.
The Chinese president's visit was part of a three-leg Middle East tour that also includes stops in Saudi Arabia and Iran.
