A passenger plane of US carrier Delta ran off the runway at Hobby Airport in the U.S. city of Houston on Monday, and no injuries were reported in the incident, officials said. The jet was about to take off before 7 a.m. local time to Atlanta when the pilot reported 'communications problem' and while returning to the gate, ended up running off the tarmac into the grass, local TV channel ABC13 reported, citing the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). The runway was closed due to the incident. The some 70 passengers onboard were taken off the plane and shuttled back to the gate, where they will take another Delta flight to Atlanta, according to the report. The plane with problem will be taken back to the Delta maintenance area to be checked out and the incident was under investigation, according to ABC13.
