A diverted Qantas flight has landed safely in Dubai after experiencing engine trouble, the Australian airline said on Friday. Qantas confirmed QF31 landed in Dubai at 4:45 a.m. local time on Friday. "Engineers are assessing that particular engine," a Qantas spokeswoman said. Pilots shut down one of the Airbus A380's engines because of an oil quantity defect after the plane left Singapore on Friday. The engine trouble forced the Singapore to London flight carrying four pilots, 21 cabin crew and 258 passengers to divert to Dubai. Friday's incident occurred exactly a year after a Qantas A380 superjumbo was forced to make an emergency landing in Singapore after a mid-air engine explosion.
