
Since its launch in 1998, each edition of Dubai Summer Surprises, DSS, has become an attraction for a growing number of families from the GCC region. This year, shoppers from neighbouring countries continue to throng the leading malls in search of deals, enjoying an array of events and activities.
The 17th edition of DSS, which is organised by the Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment, DFRE, an agency of the Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing, DTCM, commenced on 2nd August, and will run until 5th September this year, under the theme, "The Fun Side of Summer." Meanwhile, the Children's City of Dubai Municipality kicked off its summer activities on Sunday under the title ‘Our Summer with Creative Children' with a wide range of activities that will continue till 30th August from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm and 04:30pm to 06:30pm.
Naila Al Mansouri, Head of Children's City, said the programme was aimed at investing children's time during summer vacation in productive and creative activities.
