Dubai Airports, home to the biggest Arab airline Emirates, said passenger traffic may surge to 5m a month during the summer holiday rush. The number of passengers passing through the airport in April rose to 4.57m from 4.24m a year ago, the state-owned facility said in an email statement today. Cargo volumes climbed to 186,385 tons from 179,397 tons. “Crossing the 4.5m mark in terms of monthly passenger numbers is becoming the norm at Dubai International and we could break the 5m passenger ceiling during the summer peak,” CEO Paul Griffiths said in the statement.
