Dubai International airport recorded an 8.9 per cent increase in international passenger traffic in the first half of this year with 24.6 million passengers having passed through the airport, as compared to 22.6 million in the corresponding period in 2010. This marks airport's busiest six months in its' 50-year history, Dubai Airports said on Monday in a statement. The average monthly passenger traffic recorded in the first half of 2011, meanwhile, stands at 4.09 million, as compared to 3.76 million during the same period last year. In June alone, Dubai International handled a total of 4.07 million passengers up 10.4 per cent from the 3.68 million who passed through the airport in June 2010, the airport operator said.
