Tourism Minister Khaled Ramy on Sunday stressed the importance of luring more Japanese tourists to visit Egypt in a bid to ensure successful operation of the direct flight route between Cairo and Tokyo.
Rami made the remarks in a meeting with Japanese Ambassador to Egypt Takehiro Kagawa, in which they discussed means to promote bilateral cooperation in the tourism field.
The meeting took up the efforts exerted by the Egyptian Ministry of Tourism to bolster the tourist sector in the country, notably marketing efforts.
Kagawa, for his part, praised the Egyptian efforts to develop the tourist destinations, mainly the Grand Museum Project that is co-funded by Japan.
