Egyptair resumes flights to Libyan capital

EgyptAir will resume flights to Tripoli International Airport by Wednesday evening, the head of the national carrier, Captain Ayman Nasr, has told the state-run MENA news agency. A militia from a town southwest of Tripoli stormed the the Libyan capital's main airport on Monday to pressure security forces into freeing one of their commanders. Operations at the airport were frozen for several hours. On Tuesday, Reuters reported the militiamen who had attacked the airport were gone and staff were at their posts. An Austrian Airlines jet took off for Vienna, the first departure since the attack. There are 21 weekly flights between Egypt and Libya, two-thirds of them to Tripoli.
