Metro traffic in line 2 resumed on Wednesday after a nine-minute hiatus caused by the fall of two people on the metro tracks.
A girl lost her balance while standing on the edge of the sidewalk of Cairo university metro station and one of the citizens attempted to help her but he fell also on the tracks, said spokesman of the metro operation company Ahmed Abdel Hady.
The two were slightly injured, as the driver used the brake before hitting them, he added.
They were rushed to a nearby hospital to receive treatment, he said.
