Twenty-one flights were diverted and three cancelled at the Dubai airport as fog rolled in for the second day on Wednesday morning. But Friday will see lesser chances of a cover “especially over the Northern Regions”, said the National Centre of Meteorology and Seismology (NCMS). It looks like a promising weekend, with hardly any fog, according to the NCMS. The forecaster has asked motorists to drive cautiously, especially in the mornings. Temperatures could rise in the Western Region later in the day. Air travellers, too, are advised to check with their airlines before leaving for the airport. Dubai International, besides the 21 diverted and three cancelled flights, reported a number of delays in arrivals and departures. Dubai Airports said they continue to work closely with airlines, air traffic control and control authorities to minimise disruption and customer inconvenience. It promises to be a sunny weekend, with a slight rise in mercury over the Western Regions. During the nights, the weather will remain temperate, so keep the covers out as winter isn’t finished yet. Coastal areas will see a maximum of 23 to 25 degrees Celsius, and minimum of between 12 and 20. Inland temperatures will hit highs of between 24 and 29 degrees Celsius while areas near the sea will remain moderate. The conditions in the mountains will naturally be cooler with a maximum of between 15 to 19 degrees Celsius and a minimum of between 9 to 14 degrees Celsius. From KhaleejTimes
