A passenger plane of the country 's national carrier, Air India, made an emergency landing in the western state of Rajasthan's capital Jaipur on Friday following a snag in its left engine, a senior aviation official said.
"The flight was from the Indian capital to the western state of Gujarat's city of Ahmedabad when the pilot suddenly noticed the engine problem and decided to land at Jaipur airport. All 104 passengers are safe," he said on condition of anonymity.
Another Air India flight from the southern state of Kerala to the Indian capital had to return to Kochi airport soon after taking off, following a smoke which was spotted in one of the aircraft's engines.
