
ENIT Dubai held a series of events in order to showcase Italian offerings in the UAE. The office launched a series of initiatives with the Italian Festival Weeks 2013. The objective of the event in the GCC was to promoting Italy as a tourist destination in the UAE and increasing tourism flows from the Gulf Region. The festive week showcased several sectors such as culture, fashion, food and sport. The Italian Chef World Summit witnessed Italian Culinary showcase with 25 Michelin star chefs in Dubai. Another areas of focus was the first Calabria Night in the UAE, with the aim of promoting the Calabrian excellences, in collaboration with PromoCatanzaro. ENIT Dubai further participated with promotional stands at the Cavour – Aircraft carrier event in Abu Dhabi, organized by the Italian Embassy to Abu Dhabi. The Italian Navy’s ‘Cavour’ carrier stopped in Abu Dhabi during its strategic six-month-long mission for promotion of Italy in the Gulf area and Africa. The tourism office also held two training sessions for Emirates Holidays Agents, in order to acknowledge the travel agents and increase tourism flows to Italy. Source: Travel Daily
