
Macao's visitor arrivals increased by 2 percent year-on-year to 2,432,975 in November 2013, according to figures released Friday by the city's Statistics and Census Service (DSEC). Of all the arrivals in November, 52 percent spent only one day. The average length of stay of visitors stayed unchanged from a year earlier, at 1.0 day, with overnight and same-day visitors staying 2.0 days and 0.2 day, respectively, the figures indicated. Analyzed by place of residence, visitors from the Chinese mainland increased by 3 percent year-on-year to 1,546,641, 63.5 percent of the total, of which 697,024 travelling to Macao under the Individual Visit Scheme. Moreover, visitors from China's Taiwan, Chinese mainland (85, 707), Malaysia (38,779) and South Korea (38,505) increased by 7 percent, 13 percent and 11 percent respectively year-on-year, while those from Hong Kong (522,653) decreased slightly by 1 percent. In the first 11 months of 2013, visitor arrivals totaled 26,737, 993, up by 5 percent year-on-year, according to the DSEC.
