A centre that will offer residency and naturalisation services for the public round the clock, seven days a week, was opened on Thursday at Dubai International Airport. Major General Mohammad Ahmad Al Merri, Director General of the General Directorate for Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA), said the new facility, the GDRFA Service Centre at Dubai Airport, is located at the airport's Terminal 3's Gate No 2. "This centre is open to the public and will receive all residency and naturalisation-related transactions and issues round the clock, seven days of the week. The centre is open to passengers and the public," he told Gulf News. The facility was inaugurated on Thursday by Shaikh Ahmad Bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of Dubai Civil Aviation and Chairman of Emirates airline and Group. Working as one team Shaikh Ahmad said it is important that all departments work hand in hand to offer the best services in order to cope with the rapid development of the airport. He said the airport is expected to be used by more than 50 million travellers this year. "It is important to develop the airport's services and to work as one team." he said. Maj Gen Al Merri said the centre will also operate during weekly and official holidays. "We are working on offering best services to the public and airport users. This centre will not close its doors at any time of the year," he said.
