Supporting the launch of a daily Chumporn service, 1 October, Nok Air is selling discounts at hotels and restaurants in Chumporn to passengers booking tickets. Valid until 31 January 2013, passengers have to show boarding pass and coupons to get the discounts at participating hotels and resturants. The discount percentages vary from 5% to 40% on accommodation, food and beverage and spas. Chumporn is a coastal town on the Gulf of Thailand and mainly used as the point to catch a ferry to Tao Island famous for its dive sites. Travellers should check out hotel booking sites first to see if the Nok Air discount is really a good deal as it is very likely lower rates on hotels are available online. Restaurant and spa discounts are always welcome. Nok Air is the only large airline flying to Chumphon (Solar Air offers a daily flight with 19-seat aircraft), but the challenge is how to create demand to fly the Gulf of Thailand town.
