Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Iyad Madani will start a visit to Thailand and Malaysia on Sunday.
Madani will arrive in Thailand, an observer state of the OIC, where he will meet with Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha, the OIC said in a statement.
He will also attend an international conference entitled "Interfaith Dialogue and Peaceful Coexistence in Multicultural Societies," which has been co-sponsored by IRCICA, an OIC organ, and the Thai government.
The event is expected to define and encourage scholarly perspectives in understanding and promoting multiculturalism and multi-faith coexistence.
In Malaysia, Madani will meet with Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak and discuss issues of common concern, including the peace process in the Southern Philippines and other developments in the region.
