Passenger plane unable to open front wheels makes successful landing in Karachi of Pakistan

A Saudi passenger plane unable to open its front wheels made a successful emergency landing at the Karachi International Airport on Sunday morning, reported local media. The front part of the plane had minor damage during the emergency landing, Geo television reported. The plane, which was flying with 72 passengers and several crew members on board from the Saudi city of Tabuk to the Pakistani southwestern city of Quetta, requested for an emergency landing at Jinnah International Airport in Pakistan's southern port city of Karachi after it failed to open its front wheels. Civil Aviation Authorities said that a small fire erupted in the plane after it landed but it was controlled immediately. A thick smoke was seen emitting from the runway as the plane landed, they said. The authorities said that the plane faced a technical problem and its nose wheel front wheels could not open, so it landed with the wheels closed. The pilot skilfully landed the plane after the Pakistani authorities briefly closed the airport for the emergency landing. Ambulances and fire fighters had been called in to deal with any emergency situation but the authorities had a sigh of relief after the plane landed without any disaster. Civil Aviation Authorities said that the pilot was allowed to land at third attempt after he had informed the control tower about the problem.
