
The Abu Dhabi Municipality says it has completed between 50-85 per cent of the pedestrian and cyclist corridors project at Khalifa City, Shakhboot City and Mohammad Bin Zayed City with lengths ranging between seven and 18 kilometres.
The municipality pointed out that the project is an embodiment of the vision of the municipal system in Abu Dhabi seeking to achieve sustainable development objectives and enhance the standards and quality of life in the emirate of Abu Dhabi, and a reflection of its goal to provide the highest quality standards of municipal services through participation with the community and strategic partners to provide the best services according to international standards.
The municipality said the project to establish pedestrian walkways and corridors for cyclists demonstrates its commitment to the institutional values aimed at continuous upgrading of the level of quality of life in the city and to provide recreational and sports options for people, according to ideal environment, security, and safety specifications to perform these two sports.
The municipality also said that it will move forward in implementing a system projects carried out by the infrastructure sector in order to develop infrastructure components in a manner that achieves the aspirations of community members and contribute to support the components of comprehensive development taking place in Abu Dhabi at all levels.
