The Qatar Airways will from March 2012 launch the Doha-Kigali flight route. In a statement issued in Kigali, the Rwandan capital, the company said the flights would be run on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays with one stop over in Entebbe, Uganda. Currently, Brussels Airlines, Ethiopian Airlines, Kenya Airways and the Dutch company KLM serve the Kigali route. It is said that the proposed schedule would allow maximum connectivity over Kigali for flights from East and Central Africa, the news release added. Rwanda's minister of Infrastructure, Albert Nsengiyumva, has confirmed that negotiations with Qatar Airways were complete and that all being well with paper work a new route between Doha and Kigali will open this coming March.
