A Qatar Airways airplane suffered a technical failure but landed safely at Sanaa Airport on Tuesday, the director of the airport Khaled Al-Shayef said in a statement.
The captain of the Sanaa-bound plane informed the tower of a technical failure which disrupted air pressure inside the aircraft causing oxygen masks to drop, Al-Shayef said in press remarks.
The airport authorities informed the fire brigades to be ready for any emergency, he added, but the plane landed normally.
Director of air transport at the Yemeni civil aviation authority Mazen Ghanem said Qatar Airways provided an alternative plane to airlift passengers leaving Sanaa.
