The Russian tourist who went missing on the Indonesian island of Java has been found alive and well, public relations officer of the Russian Embassy to Indonesia Dmitry Solodov told Itar-Tass on Thursday. “He (the tourist) is currently at the top of the mountain together with the rescuers. Measures for his evacuation are being taken,” Solodov said. The 25-year-old resident of Voronezh (a city in central European Russia) Yevgeny Luchina went missing while climbing the largest active volcano on the Java Island - Mount Merapi. The man went hiking a few days ago. On Saturday, he sent his girlfriend a text message asking her to arrange for help. On Monday, the Russian sent another SMS message in which specified his whereabouts - near a river.
