S Korea, Russia enter flight codeshare agreement

South Korea and Russia have signed a codeshare agreement in order to allow air passengers better connectivity to their destinations, Seoul's transport ministry said Saturday. Under the agreement, signed in Moscow this week, the two countries' airlines will be allowed to sell seats on flights operated by cooperating partners, the Ministry of Land, Transport and Maritime Affairs said. The two countries also agreed to open up air routes between South Korea and the eastern Russian city of Vladivostok, allowing airlines of the two countries an unlimited number of flights on these routes. At present, only one South Korean and one Russian airline offer regular flights between South Korea and Vladivostok. The agreements are expected to help expand tourism, trade and investment between the two countries, the ministry added.
