Sale of BMI Regional completed

International Airlines Group (IAG) has confirmed that the sale of the regional airline division of BMI to Aberdeen-based consortium Sector Aviation Holdings has been completed today. The £8 million deal is expected to secure over 300 jobs in the area. The Aberdeen-based airline currently operates 18 regional jets on scheduled services in the UK and Europe. Ian Woodley will become chairman of BMI Regional under the new regime. He commented that the existing route network would remain the same while BA would provide support during the transitional phase to ensure a seamless transfer.
