
Prime Minister Abdelmalek Sellal has launched Thursday the extension works of the terminal of Houari-Boumediene international airport.
"This huge project, represents the future of Algeria," said Sellal after he had laid the foundation stone of the new terminal, which will have a capacity of 10 million passengers per year.
The new terminal is between the terminal 1 (international fights) and the new airport lounge. It will stretches over 73 hectares.
The construction works of the DZD 90.299 billion terminal have been entrusted to a Chinese company, which is due to be completed within 40 months, i.e. in 2018.
During the working visit to the province of Algiers, Sellal, who is accompanied by several ministers and the Wali (governor) of Algiers, will also inspect the construction site of the airport's new control tower, which is due to be delivered by December 2015.
