Turkish Airlines Cargo announced here on Monday that its cargo service has opened an Asia Far East headquarters in Hong Kong in light of the airlines' increasing business presence in the region. The headquarters is expected to coordinate the sales and marketing to all the flight destinations in the region as well as to improve the service quality and speed, according to a company statement. In the first 10 months of 2011, Turkish Airlines Cargo grew by 49.6 percent in the Far East region, said the company's head, Abdullah Soner Akkurt, in the statement. "In the coming period we plan to increase our market share of cargo in this region. Our new Asia Far East cargo headquarters will play an important role to this end," Akkurt added.
