
Over 430,000 passengers arrived at and departed from airports around the country within a 72-hour period over.
The highest number of arriving and departing passengers in a day was recorded on Friday, December 19, at 150,917, the General Director of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) revealed.
"The growing number of passengers travelling through the country is a testament to its success,” said Major-General Mohammad Al Merri, Director General of the GDRFA.
"Last Friday, we recorded the highest number of passengers coming and going through the country's airports in a day. The strategies and foresight of our leaders helped us reach where we are today. Our airports are fully prepared to accommodate the growing number of passengers coming through, and we do expect the numbers to increase with time. Airport staff is also aptly trained to service each passenger to the utmost capacity and standard expected of the country.”
