
Prominent political figure Messaoud Ould Boulkheir
Messaoud Ould Boulkheir, President of Mauritanian People's Progressive Alliance and President of the National Assembly, has called on the opposition to present
serious concessions for the interests of the country.
A source, on condition of anonymity, revealed to Arab Today that Mauritanian President Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz has agreed with Messaoud Ould Boulkheir to draft an inclusive roadmap. The latter will include date of elections as well as governmental guarantees of establishing an independent observatory to supervise the elections.
During a meeting with supporters of his initiative on Monday, Boulkheir said that the Mauritanian president responded to his demands, adding that elections may be held January 2014. The prominent political figure also called on different parties to participate in the upcoming elections.
