Al Fayoum, where the boy was killed, is Egypt's largest oasis In Al Fyoum, a village to the south west of Cairo in Egypt, a local family committed an honour killing against a boy who was accused of having a relationship with their daughter. Mohammed Oshari, a 16 year old boy, received a knife wound to the stomach and had his penis cut. The police investigation revealed that Mohammed had been in a relationship with a girl called Fatma from their village, Al Jabli, a region administered as part of the Yusuf Siddiq centre. The boy had promised to marry the young girl but had subsequently changed his mind. The girl’s family tricked the boy to a secret location where a male family member attacked him, causing the fatal wounds he received.
