Pistorious' bail amount has been fixed at $112,000
Iconic paralympian Oscar Pistorius was granted bail by a South African magistrate on Friday, pending trial for killing his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp.
Pretoria magistrate Desmond Nair
ruled Pistorius was not a flight risk and did not pose a danger to society after an emotionally charged four-day bail hearing.
The bail amount was fixed at one million rand ($112,000), and conditions includes a ban on drinking alcohol.
The sprinter was also ordered to hand over his firearms, and must report to the police station between 7am and 1pm every Monday and Friday.
Prosecutors say Pistorius is guilty of premeditated murder over the Valentine's Day killing of his model and law graduate girlfriend Steenkamp, at his heavily secured home.
If found guilty he faces a possible life sentence.
Pistorius denies the charge, saying that he shot 29-year-old Steenkamp repeatedly through a locked bathroom door in the dead of night by accident, having mistaken her for a burglar.
A trial date has not been set, with the court provisionally set to meet on June 4.
