Protesters gather outside the Tunisian Embassy in Cairo Tunis – Azhar Jarboui The Tunisian president Moncef Marzouki has denied allegations that Egypt’s Muslim Brotherhood leader Mohammed Badie, is in hiding in the Tunisian Embassy in Cairo .
According to a tweet by Egypt’s Interim President, Adly Mansour, he said, “a little while ago I had a phone call with the Tunisian President expressing our discontent as the ?Tunisian Embassy in Cairo for sheltering the Brotherhood Guide who is wanted for justice”.
In a conflicting statement, Egyptian news channels reported the Brotherhood member to have been smuggled to the Qatari Embassy in Egypt.
Marzouki refuted the claims by Egypt’s Interim President, Adly Mansour.  On his Twitter page he denied the Muslim Brotherhood member was in the embassy, and said he condemned the violence which is sweeping Egypt.
His comments came after demonstrators took to the streets on Friday, after a funeral prayer ceremony held for the demonstrators killed in Egypt.  Protestors held rallied in the Tunisian capital, Tunis; shouting their support for the Egyptian people, especially Muslim Brotherhood leader Mohammed Morsi.
Protesters held banners supporting Egypt’s Islamist Ennahda party, and chanted slogans calling for trial of Egyptian Minister of Defence, Abdel Fattah al Sissi, describing him as a, ‘war criminal and committer of genocide”.
Tunisia’s parliament strongly condemned the violent crackdown in which scores were killed and hundreds injured.
The country’s presidential advisor, Nour el Din al Beheiry, called on Egypt’s army to respect the rights of civilians.
He said the Tunisian government was allowing peaceful demonstrations in the country, but would not allow violence and destruction of public and private property.
Analysts said the visit by German Foreign Minister to Tunisia, last Thursday, demonstrated a change in policy, after the country’s main opposition group, the Salvation Front, signaled a move to return to the National Constituent Assembly.
