Injury is a blow for Ahly regular Walid Soliman
Al-Ahly playmaker Walid Soliman is considering a move to Germany in a bit to step up rehabilitation efforts, club doctor Ihab Ali has confirmed.
The 28-year old underwent surgery to fix damage in his knee
cartilage on Tuesday. The Ahly star has now received an invitation from a medical centre in Germany, and a visa application has been submitted.
The club has already confirmed that Soliman is facing a recovery period of between six to eight weeks, making him a doubt for February's African Super Cup match against Congo's Leopards.
"Soliman will be doubtful for the African Super Cup match as he will be out of action for at least two months," read the Cairo giants statement.
Surgery on the player's knee was supervised by former team doctor Ahmed Abdul Aziz. The player decided to delay the operation until after Ahly's campaign in the recent FIFA Club World Cup.
