
France striker Antoine Griezmann has been named as the Euro 2016 player of the tournament by UEFA.
The 25-year-old netted six goals and provided two assists as he played an integral part in the France team's run to the final where they lost to Portugal.
The Atletico Madrid striker scored both goals in Les Bleus 2-0 semi-final win over Germany and also struck twice in the come-from-behind 2-1 win against the Republic of Ireland in the last-16.
Griezmann finished as the tournament' top goal scorer and was hailed by UEFA chief technical officer Ioan Lupsecu, who said: "Antoine Griezmann was a threat in every game he played. He works hard for his team and possesses technique, vision and quality finishing.
Despite Griezmann's best efforts, the hosts came up short in the final on Sunday night when Portugal substitute Eder scored in the second half of extra-time to secure a 1-0 win as the Portugese claimed their first ever major honour.
And included the ideal selection of 11 players from the teams that reached the semi-finals, four from Portugal and two from France and three from Germany and two from Wales.The Rui Patricio Goalkeepers (Portugal) and in the defense Joshua Kimmich (Germany), Jerome Boateng (Germany), Pepe (Portugal), Raphael Guerreiro (Portugla), and in the middles, Toni Kroos (Germany), Joe Allen (Wales), Aaron Ramsey (Wales), Antoine Griezmann (Fracne), Dimitri Payet (France), and in the attack Cristiano Ronaldo (Portugal).
