Texan Clint Dempsey joined Tottenham on transfer deadline day
Fulham have confirmed their withdrawal of a complaint made to the Football Association against Liverpool, in relation to their former midfielder Clint Dempsey.
The Cottagers accused Liverpool of tapping-up Dempsey in the summer,
after the club's official website claimed it had signed the player and Reds boss Brendan Rodgers was full of praise for the American.
In a statement, Fulham said that Liverpool’s Chairman Tom Werner apologised to his counterpart Mohamed Al-Fayed in person about the entire episode. The Merseyside club's CEO Alistair Mackintosh, also wrote a letter in which the remarks were reiterated with an acceptance that Liverpool's behaviour was unacceptable.
The statement concluded. "The Chairman decided that this sincere action was enough, and as a gesture of goodwill, instructed that all complaints against them be dropped."
Dempsey later moved to North London side Tottenham in the same transfer window.
