Hossam El-Badry has been impressed with his players in Japan
Al-Ahly coach Hossam El-Badry has told his players to target a spot in the FIFA Club World Cup final when they face Brazilian side Corinthians in the semi-final on Wednesday.
In their fourth Club World Cup campaign, El-Badry's
team could face English Champions League winners Chelsea in the final. The manager says this tournament is already tougher than the last three but the team can win: "This is the hardest Club World Cup Ahly have played in and we are going to play to win against Corinthians.”
The Cairo side beat Japanese team Sanfrecce Hiroshima 2-1 on Sunday and El-Badry has admitted that he has been impressed with the way his players have adapted to the Japanese time-zone.
Ahly's match against the Copa Libertadores champions at the Toyota stadium is the first of two semi-finals. The other game on Thursday sees Chelsea face Mexican champions Monterrey.
The final is on Sunday at the International stadium in Yokohama.
