QPR midfielder Adel Taarabt
French champions Paris Saint Germain (PSG) have opened talks with the representatives of Moroccan winger Adel Taarabt, as they look to 'hijack'
the player's potential move to Monaco, French newspaper Le Parisien has reported.
Taarabt has told officials at his London club, Queens Park Rangers (QPR) of his desire to leave this summer, following the side's relegation to the English Championship (division two).
According to Le Parisien, PSG's Qatari owners are willing to stump up $15m for the temperamental forward, ans stave of any interest from newly-rich Monaco.
Taarabt looked set to join PSG two seasons, before the club's sporting director, Leonardo, pulled the plug on a potential move at the 11th hour.
The 24-year-old from Fes is reportedly not interested in UAE Pro League side Al-Ain, and would prefer to stay in Europe. Italian duo Napoli and Milan, along with England's Arsenal have been credited with an interest in Taarabt in the past.
