Anderson's AW2012 collection
Jonathan Anderson of the London fashion brand JW Anderson has today announced that he will create a capsule collection for Versus. Versus is the diffusion line of Italian fashion house Versace, the company's founder Gianni created
the first line in 1990 as a gift to Donatella, his sister, muse and vice-president of the company. Donatella has since proved her knack for spotting young talent and no doubt picked up Jonathan after the success of his debut high street line for Topshop in September this year.
The Irish-born designer launched his label JW Anderson in 2008 with menswear before introducing womenswear in 2011. He has since become known for his combination of austere silhouettes with a street-wear flavour, and has secured his spot as a favourite with the East London hipster set and fashion-savvy celebs such as Alexa Chung. Anderson's Versus range will be unveiled at a New York presentation in March or April next year and is set to include men's and women's RTW and accessories. It will be the first in a series of designer collaborations that aims to the relaunch the Versus brand after Christopher Kane parted ways with the label earlier this month, having held the role of creative director since 2009. The collection will be sold online at leading international department stores.
