Petra is included in the initiative
The Jordanian Cabinet agreed to charge Arab tourists the same entry fees as Jordanians for entry to archaeological sites. The decision on Monday stated that the initiative will last until the end of 2013.
According to Tourism Minister Ibrahim Saif, the measure comes within Jordan's preparations for the summer, to provide all the necessary facilities for Arab tourists and encourage them to spend their holidays in Jordan.
The Jordanian government believes the initiative will stimulate a tourism influx.
